CEDAR SLAB
Slab is the outside cuts from a cedar log, obtained in the process of changing a round log into boards. Cedar slab makes excellent kindling, and is also used to make rough fencing and windbreaks. Rather than simply discard the cedar slab, we collect the slab pieces in a frame and steel band them into a bundle. The slab bundles are roughly 3 feet by 4 feet by whatever length of log we are cutting (generally 9 to 16 feet). We can load them on your truck or sturdy trailer with our tractor. They weigh roughly 1500 pounds, which is a lot of kindling!
